Kiss Nail Dress Review!

Ah the wonderful world of nails!! In my complimentary  love voxbox from Influenster I was able to test out the Kiss Nail Dress stickers. I have tested an older version of these & liked them a lot. These were definitely no dissappointment!

Besides the obvious no dry time, these are quite easy to apply if you just have a little patience. For a full set it can take me about 6-8 minutes from start to finish.  I always start by washing & drying my hand thoroughly. I then use rubbing alcohol to clean my nails. I allow that to dry while selecting my sizes (if I'm doing a full set). Then I remove the sizes one by one, applying each & trimming away the excess before going to the next.
I find it easier to apply them in the center first, rolling to the right then left. After they are on I will press on my nail firmly & hold for about 15 seconds. Then I either use cuticle scissors to trim away excess of the filing method given in the instructions. Which way I use really depends on what my intentions are for the scraps. After I've applied them I wait for about an hour before I get my hands wet or in any oily/lotion like substances.

I have gotten 5 days wear out of the stickers on my nails & three weeks as an accent on my big toe. I rarely leave my nails the same for longer than 5 days so the durability is just fine for me. And the variety of styles is awesome. They're great to mix & match too.

With 18 designs to choose from, there's something for everyone! Each packet includes 28 strips, a small nail file, & a leaflet of creative designs to copy or inspire you!

You can purchase these at most drugstores such as Walgreens, CVS & at your local Wal-mart. Disclaimor: I received these complimentary nail products from Influenster.com. I have not & will not be compensated for my time or opinion by either company whether it be monetary or otherwise. My opinions are solely mine based on my own experience testing this product!

Gillette Venus & Olay Razor Review

I have truly enjoyed being part of the Influenster community since joining last summer. I have been introduced to many awesome products.

I'm no stranger to Gillette Venus, so I was so ready to test the not-sold-in-stores-yet Venus & Olay razor.
This 5 blade, dual shave cream bar razor offers so many pros. It has the expected sharpness of a Gillette razor and the rich moisturizing properties I've come to love from Olay

The head is flexible to contour to all the right places.  It contains some of the key ingredients from Olay to help lock in moisture & give you that goddess glow!

I've used my Gillette Venus & Olay razor for a couple weeks now & am still lovin' my goddess skin! Can't wait for the refills to be sold in stores so I can stock up!!

Wet N Wild New Eyeshadow Trio- "I'm Getting Sunburned" Review

Found a gorgeous new eyeshadow trio from Wet n Wild at my local CVS the other day! They had some great new shades to choose from but "I'm Getting Sunburned" was my pick out of them. The colors suit my hazel eyes to a "t"!

Something else fun about the eyeshadow (besides the colors) was the little tutorial on the back and the word etched in the powder for where it goes!
I used the tutorial as a general guide but finished it out the way I like my eyes. I started the whole process with the brow bone color. It was a pretty slightly rosy, slightly lavender color with a slight shimmer. I used this for a base over my entire eye.
This is the brow bone color used as an all over base.
The color glided on smoothly and was just as pretty on as in the case.
Next for the crease I did it quite a bit lighter than what the eyeshadow for the crease is. It's a very rich chocolate eyeshadow. I like deep colors but not extremely deep. Plus I was doing this eye for day time running. I swiped it on lightly and blended it in to the outer color.
This is the base plus crease.
Next I added the glimmery gold lid eyeshadow. This one I liked paticularly well. It had just enough shimmer to catch the light but not over powering. I used this eyeshadow just on my lower lid.
All three shades for the complete look.
Finally I added a couple coats of mascara and was good to go!
Final look.
The shadow didn't crease for my whole trip! The color stayed vibrant and in place. I love that the colors not only go well together but can be worn alone as well. Another key thing for me is ease of removal and all 3 colors were easy to fully remove before I hit the hay that night.
I am definitely happy with my new eyeshadow trio! But I've come to expect nothing less from Wet n Wild!
Oh and be sure to check out their site at the link in the beginning of this blog or here.

Get ready. I'm gettin another Voxbox!!!!

I know I've told you all about www.Influenster.com before, but just in case you didn't catch that blog, here's a quick overview.
Influenster.com is a site for a community of trendsetters to actively participate in testing & reviewing various products. You interact with Influenster as well as the brands you test. Share your positive experiences on various social media & get the word out about amazing products/companies. You don't get paid by anyone for any of your time/reviews. But it does help you qualify for the next batch of goodies (known as a voxbox) to be tested.
All the products I've gotten to test through Influenster I have truly enjoyed. I also enjoy completing the brand challenges & earning new badges! The site is going through a bit of a revamp this year & tons of exciting new things await in mid March!
The first voxbox of the year will be a love voxbox. A quick preview of reviews to come : sweetner, tasty treat, & a manicure tool! These are just a couple of the items. I was fortunate enough to not only prequalify but to make the final cut as well!  Around the 24th of this month my voxbox will ship from Shy town & head to my door step! So excited to check out these new items & let ya'll know my take on them!

Spoiled by Wet N Wild's New "Spoiled" Nail Polish! Review

Colors are one of the most interesting things, for me, in this world. Wet n Wild has definitely got some awesome outrageous colors in their nail polish lines! I have loved Wet N Wild since I was just a curious tween venturing into make-up. I have found their stuff to be of great quality at a great price!
I recently sauntered into my local CVS Pharmacy and came across Wet n Wild's newest nail polish line, Spoiled. I was ecstatic! Of course you can get these at one of Wet n Wild's usual amazing prices, $1.99, and in many awesome colors! I left that day with a brilliant neon yellow/green Spoiled nail polish called "Did I Dye it Too Blonde?" and a poppin' sort of neon pink Spoiled polish called "Tip Your Waitress".
Tip Your Waitress

Did I Dye It Too Blonde?
Eager to slap on a coat or two of Wet n Wild's Spoiled nail polish and test drive these marvelous colors I opted to go with "Did I Dye It Too Blonde" Spoiled nail polish first.  I was so anxious I even applied my first coat while waiting to pick my kiddos up from school!

This is one coat I applied while waiting  on the kiddos.
Now this color just absolutely rocks for me! Its a perplexing color that, to me, is truly a mix of yellow and light yellow green. It pops not only in the bottle but also on your nails! However I have found it VERY difficult to capture the true nature of this color on camera so please over look any differences as I have tried my best to match it up! :)
Let's get down to the nitty gritty. As gorgeous as all the colors in the Wet n Wild Spoiled nail polish line are, how do they hold up?  The first thing I want to address is the applicator brush.
As you can see its a nice thick brush that flattens out wider so with just one to two swipes you can cover your entire nail.
The polish its self isn't too thick or thin and goes on smoothly. It has a rich creamy texture. "Did I Dye It Too Blonde" has a high sheen when you first apply and dries to a more matte finish. One coat covers decently and layers quite nicely. It is fairly opaque. I am currently wearing three layers and it isn't thick and rubbery like some nail polishes I have tried in the past from various brands.

This is three coats.
I've been wearing this for a couple days with minimal chipping and it has done well to hold up to the life of a mother of four boys. There are a hundred reasons why I love Wet N Wild and I think I just found one hundred and one. I love that it is so bold and eye catching! Then there is the added bonus of reliabilty of Wet N Wild products! I've been gushing to everyone about this line of nail polish and will be headed back to get more colors!
These are definitely a polish to try with 12 lovely shades to try from. You can't beat the price and the quality is just as wonderful!

Journeying to a Fit Me

Most of my life I've been, uh, shall we say pleasantly plump :). I had a few years of healthy size when I was in high school. But I let go of all that concern & work when I got pregnant with my first son. And let me tell you, that was the end of my will power haha!
My husband always thought I didn't eat enough before being pregnant & I didn't want to deprive my baby so I let myself go all willy nilly. I was young and naive to say the least. I thought, "I'm young and its mostly baby so it'll just melt right off." Sheesh was I wrong. I gained 65lbs. Eight years & 3 more boys later, I'm still packing that 65lbs plus 10.
Quite frankly I'm tired of haulin' that load ha ha. I had started last fall getting back into shape and the holidays smacked me in the face. My will power wasn't quite up to the test yet. And I've been kind of stuck since then. I guess I could blame it on stress and other factors, but the simple fact is, I've just been apethetic to the whole process.
I'm sure all of you have felt this way or been in this same rut. I know what I need to do, why I need/want to do it and now I just need to do it. I don't want to be super thin or look like anyone else. I just want to be fit. I want to be able to play chase with my boys and lastas long as them. I want to get up doing things & not be tired within 30 minutes. I'm done worrying about a number on the scale or in the tag of my clothes. I just want to be healthy.
Today restarts that journey. Its time to put away excuses, move past enablers, and find my healthy me. I'm going to do a bi-weekly blog on my progress. Even though I'm done worrying about numbers I'll still share them :). Hopefully maybe I can inspire or help someone else in this same rut. Who knows. Anythings possible!

REVIEW Kiss Stick-On Strips

Wild. Elegant. Cool. Hot. Stunning. Chic. You name it & I love it... on my nails! I am constantly changing the color/design on my nails. I look for fun innovative products for them as well. I came across these Kiss Stick-On Strips at my local Dollar General while perusing for some household essentials. The colors & designs were so eye catching I just fell in love. Hen & Chicks got my full attention though. Neon orange & pink with zebra stripes just screamed summer at me. And since I can't stand the cold I figured I'd summer up my nails. :)

Day 1 just applied
Day 1

I've enjoyed other Kiss nail products (excited to see them continue to expand their brand as well) over the years and have come to expect great quality from them. Kiss nail products' great quality is matched by their awesome prices. Check out their site for more details- www.kissusa.com
For 3 bucks I got 18 strips of varying sizes. Kiss Stick-On Strips boast application in 3 easy steps & stay put power for up to 10 days. So once home I began my process. I cleaned my nails with alcohol & picked out my 10 strips. I applied them closely to my cuticle, foldeddown the end & filed off the excess. I have a tendency to bite my nails if they're not painted or well manicured so theywere quite short when I applied them. However application was easy. Please do remember to clean your nails with alcohol prior to applying!
Now that the Kiss Stick-On Strips were on it, was time to show them off & check their stay put ability Kiss Stick-On Strips didn't feel awkward like I had imagined at first. It was really no different than having paint on my nails. I received lots of compliments on my Kiss Stick-On Strips.

This is day 4
I wore them for 4 days, did about 5 loads of dishes (by hand) with the Kiss Stick-On Strips on plus all my normal daily mommy stuff. Not one chipped, peeled, cracked or tore. At the end of day 4 I took them off only because I was ready for a change. The Kiss Stick-On Strips had lived up to all that Kiss had claimed.
Day 4
I spoke with another lady who had purchased some as well. Her Kiss Stick-On Strips had been on for 9 days and looked great! I plan on purchasing some other designs to give a try.
My overall take on the Kiss Stick-On Strips is definitely positive. I recommend all nail fans give these a try. With all the designs, there is something for everyone!

Snackivore-Yep thats me!

OK I've come to face the facts... I love snacking. And any kind of snack works. Healthy or otherwise. Chips are one of my fave more unhealthy snacks. I love the various choices and textures. Makes my mouth water :). So any chip I am up to try at least once.
I was a lucky www.houseparty.com hostess last Saturday of a Riceworks Crisps party. I hadn't tried them before and was greatly intrigued by their promise of flavor with a healthier kick. Riceworks Crisps  boasts natural ingredients, no preservatives, no artificial flavors, wheat & gluten free, 7g whole grains, kosher certified, 33% less fat than potato chips, plus much more, while still having great flavor. So why not get excited?? Read more about their benefits and such here.
The Riceworks company had me revved for big flavor with a little less guilt. I decided to pair the 6 flavors with a variety of dips: salsa, salsa con queso, spinach dip, and the fixings for Chicken nachos. (I tend to be a little partial to Mexican inspired dips.) And my guests and I noshed over laughs and a few photo opps as well as some snacking sin confessions.

The crisps were all a hit with my party goers. I myself fell in love! Riceworks texture is very crisp with a smooth flavor. They're thicker than potato chips which makes them great for dipping and such. My faves wound down to the Parmesan & sun-dried tomato, sea salt and the gourmet wild rice w/ sea salt & black pepper. Riceworks crisps go great with dips but are perfectly delicious enough to stand alone!
The Sweet Chili Riceworks crisps were my least favorite flavor as they were too sweet for my liking.  With that said they were still quite tasty. My two year old found his fave was the Sweet Chili. The Parmesan & Sun-Dried Tomato were the second fave of my guests/guinea pigs.
The flavor of the actual crisp is a mild almost nutty flavor. The seasonings are robust but not overpowering. For me, Riceworks has found the perfect balance of flavor and health. Yet another reason I stand by trying almost everything once.
Don't just go by my take on Riceworks, try them for yourself today!!
