Sinful Colors: My Newest Find

Ok ok. Its been forever since I have chatted it up with y'all about cool & fave goodies. Sorry about that! I've been a super busy momma with lots of mommy type duties & other personal "me" consumers.
But I'm back & I have a stunningly eclectric blue by Sinful Colors polish I picked up at my local Wal-Mart.  I'm a sucker for the bright electric colors of summer. This one was Love Nails.
I've had Sinful Colors polishes in the past & really enjoyed them. Being a momma on a budget I like the quality of these polishes for $1.98.
Their brushes are smaller than I prefer but they're a pretty decent brush. This is a quite sheer polish. I used three coats to get the look I wanted. But I like the slight variations you can achieve with the different number of coats.
I saw a couple more I may have to swing by & pick up in the near future. But for now this one is brightening my days.
Have any of the rest of you tried the summer collection of Sinful colors? What's your fave Sinful Colors.

New Wet N Wild Nail Color To Show off!

Got a new Wet N Wild nail polish today!  Permission To Proceed from the Spoiled line- a CVS exclusive. Spoiled is one of my absolute favorite nail polish lines ever. Variety with such intensity.
pre-clean up after 3 coats
Its such a deep full green that screams summer to me.  Very reminiscent of the lush green grass gets after rain in the summer and of fresh ripe watermelon. This would be an excellent pop of color in any summer wardrobe. Its a rather opaque color and will take a few coats to achieve a deep color.

pre-clean up after 3 coats.
Besides awesome colors and a fantastic price ($1.99), the brushes in this line are phenomenal. The bristles are sturdy and fairly thick. The brush is wide enough to cover my entire nail in one swoop. Oh yes, fabulous coverage! I wish all polishes came with this brush!
As you can see the brush fully covers my nail.

I can't wait to make my way through all the colors of the Spoiled nail polish line! So stay tuned to see what other colors I pick!

Have you tried any of the Spoiled line? What colors are your fave? Any to suggest? Comment below & let me know what you think!

Yay! So I received my goodie basket I earned doing the Palmolive Fresh Sponge challenge for Influenster!
Included in this delightful little entourage was a sweet little Palmolive pot holder! Love it! With my four boys cooking happens a lot & never can have too many of these!
Also was thrilled to see some Softsoap Pomengranate soap bars! Love the smell & cleans wonderously! Already us the body wash ;).  This is really a yummy smell! Really should give it a go!
And of course love the Softsoap Pampered Hands foaming hand wash! Got the "scentilating" Tangerine Treat!  The foam is rich, only needing one maybe two pumps. It cleans great and leaves your hands feeling silky & moisturized!
Finally but definitely not leastly, the Colgate Optic White toothpaste! I am uber excited to try this out & will do a review after using it for about 2 weeks. I will have pics & all and let you lovely people in on just how optic it is!

I have truly enjoyed being part of the Influenster community since joining last summer. I have been introduced to many awesome products.

This 5 blade, dual shave cream bar razor offers so many pros. It has the expected sharpness of a Gillette razor and the rich moisturizing properties I've come to love from Olay

The head is flexible to contour to all the right places.  It contains some of the key ingredients from Olay to help lock in moisture & give you that goddess glow!

I've used my Gillette Venus & Olay razor for a couple weeks now & am still lovin' my goddess skin! Can't wait for the refills to be sold in stores so I can stock up!!

Wet N Wild New Eyeshadow Trio- "I'm Getting Sunburned" Review

Found a gorgeous new eyeshadow trio from Wet n Wild at my local CVS the other day! They had some great new shades to choose from but "I'm Getting Sunburned" was my pick out of them. The colors suit my hazel eyes to a "t"!

Something else fun about the eyeshadow (besides the colors) was the little tutorial on the back and the word etched in the powder for where it goes!
I used the tutorial as a general guide but finished it out the way I like my eyes. I started the whole process with the brow bone color. It was a pretty slightly rosy, slightly lavender color with a slight shimmer. I used this for a base over my entire eye.
This is the brow bone color used as an all over base.
The color glided on smoothly and was just as pretty on as in the case.
Next for the crease I did it quite a bit lighter than what the eyeshadow for the crease is. It's a very rich chocolate eyeshadow. I like deep colors but not extremely deep. Plus I was doing this eye for day time running. I swiped it on lightly and blended it in to the outer color.
This is the base plus crease.
Next I added the glimmery gold lid eyeshadow. This one I liked paticularly well. It had just enough shimmer to catch the light but not over powering. I used this eyeshadow just on my lower lid.
All three shades for the complete look.
Finally I added a couple coats of mascara and was good to go!
Final look.
The shadow didn't crease for my whole trip! The color stayed vibrant and in place. I love that the colors not only go well together but can be worn alone as well. Another key thing for me is ease of removal and all 3 colors were easy to fully remove before I hit the hay that night.
I am definitely happy with my new eyeshadow trio! But I've come to expect nothing less from Wet n Wild!
Oh and be sure to check out their site at the link in the beginning of this blog or here.

Spoiled by Wet N Wild's New "Spoiled" Nail Polish! Review

Colors are one of the most interesting things, for me, in this world. Wet n Wild has definitely got some awesome outrageous colors in their nail polish lines! I have loved Wet N Wild since I was just a curious tween venturing into make-up. I have found their stuff to be of great quality at a great price!
I recently sauntered into my local CVS Pharmacy and came across Wet n Wild's newest nail polish line, Spoiled. I was ecstatic! Of course you can get these at one of Wet n Wild's usual amazing prices, $1.99, and in many awesome colors! I left that day with a brilliant neon yellow/green Spoiled nail polish called "Did I Dye it Too Blonde?" and a poppin' sort of neon pink Spoiled polish called "Tip Your Waitress".
Tip Your Waitress

Did I Dye It Too Blonde?
Eager to slap on a coat or two of Wet n Wild's Spoiled nail polish and test drive these marvelous colors I opted to go with "Did I Dye It Too Blonde" Spoiled nail polish first.  I was so anxious I even applied my first coat while waiting to pick my kiddos up from school!

This is one coat I applied while waiting  on the kiddos.
Now this color just absolutely rocks for me! Its a perplexing color that, to me, is truly a mix of yellow and light yellow green. It pops not only in the bottle but also on your nails! However I have found it VERY difficult to capture the true nature of this color on camera so please over look any differences as I have tried my best to match it up! :)
Let's get down to the nitty gritty. As gorgeous as all the colors in the Wet n Wild Spoiled nail polish line are, how do they hold up?  The first thing I want to address is the applicator brush.
As you can see its a nice thick brush that flattens out wider so with just one to two swipes you can cover your entire nail.
The polish its self isn't too thick or thin and goes on smoothly. It has a rich creamy texture. "Did I Dye It Too Blonde" has a high sheen when you first apply and dries to a more matte finish. One coat covers decently and layers quite nicely. It is fairly opaque. I am currently wearing three layers and it isn't thick and rubbery like some nail polishes I have tried in the past from various brands.

This is three coats.
I've been wearing this for a couple days with minimal chipping and it has done well to hold up to the life of a mother of four boys. There are a hundred reasons why I love Wet N Wild and I think I just found one hundred and one. I love that it is so bold and eye catching! Then there is the added bonus of reliabilty of Wet N Wild products! I've been gushing to everyone about this line of nail polish and will be headed back to get more colors!
These are definitely a polish to try with 12 lovely shades to try from. You can't beat the price and the quality is just as wonderful!

REVIEW Kiss Stick-On Strips

Wild. Elegant. Cool. Hot. Stunning. Chic. You name it & I love it... on my nails! I am constantly changing the color/design on my nails. I look for fun innovative products for them as well. I came across these Kiss Stick-On Strips at my local Dollar General while perusing for some household essentials. The colors & designs were so eye catching I just fell in love. Hen & Chicks got my full attention though. Neon orange & pink with zebra stripes just screamed summer at me. And since I can't stand the cold I figured I'd summer up my nails. :)

Day 1 just applied
Day 1

I've enjoyed other Kiss nail products (excited to see them continue to expand their brand as well) over the years and have come to expect great quality from them. Kiss nail products' great quality is matched by their awesome prices. Check out their site for more details- www.kissusa.com
For 3 bucks I got 18 strips of varying sizes. Kiss Stick-On Strips boast application in 3 easy steps & stay put power for up to 10 days. So once home I began my process. I cleaned my nails with alcohol & picked out my 10 strips. I applied them closely to my cuticle, foldeddown the end & filed off the excess. I have a tendency to bite my nails if they're not painted or well manicured so theywere quite short when I applied them. However application was easy. Please do remember to clean your nails with alcohol prior to applying!
Now that the Kiss Stick-On Strips were on it, was time to show them off & check their stay put ability Kiss Stick-On Strips didn't feel awkward like I had imagined at first. It was really no different than having paint on my nails. I received lots of compliments on my Kiss Stick-On Strips.

This is day 4
I wore them for 4 days, did about 5 loads of dishes (by hand) with the Kiss Stick-On Strips on plus all my normal daily mommy stuff. Not one chipped, peeled, cracked or tore. At the end of day 4 I took them off only because I was ready for a change. The Kiss Stick-On Strips had lived up to all that Kiss had claimed.
Day 4
I spoke with another lady who had purchased some as well. Her Kiss Stick-On Strips had been on for 9 days and looked great! I plan on purchasing some other designs to give a try.
My overall take on the Kiss Stick-On Strips is definitely positive. I recommend all nail fans give these a try. With all the designs, there is something for everyone!

Snackivore-Yep thats me!

OK I've come to face the facts... I love snacking. And any kind of snack works. Healthy or otherwise. Chips are one of my fave more unhealthy snacks. I love the various choices and textures. Makes my mouth water :). So any chip I am up to try at least once.
I was a lucky www.houseparty.com hostess last Saturday of a Riceworks Crisps party. I hadn't tried them before and was greatly intrigued by their promise of flavor with a healthier kick. Riceworks Crisps  boasts natural ingredients, no preservatives, no artificial flavors, wheat & gluten free, 7g whole grains, kosher certified, 33% less fat than potato chips, plus much more, while still having great flavor. So why not get excited?? Read more about their benefits and such here.
The Riceworks company had me revved for big flavor with a little less guilt. I decided to pair the 6 flavors with a variety of dips: salsa, salsa con queso, spinach dip, and the fixings for Chicken nachos. (I tend to be a little partial to Mexican inspired dips.) And my guests and I noshed over laughs and a few photo opps as well as some snacking sin confessions.

The crisps were all a hit with my party goers. I myself fell in love! Riceworks texture is very crisp with a smooth flavor. They're thicker than potato chips which makes them great for dipping and such. My faves wound down to the Parmesan & sun-dried tomato, sea salt and the gourmet wild rice w/ sea salt & black pepper. Riceworks crisps go great with dips but are perfectly delicious enough to stand alone!
The Sweet Chili Riceworks crisps were my least favorite flavor as they were too sweet for my liking.  With that said they were still quite tasty. My two year old found his fave was the Sweet Chili. The Parmesan & Sun-Dried Tomato were the second fave of my guests/guinea pigs.
The flavor of the actual crisp is a mild almost nutty flavor. The seasonings are robust but not overpowering. For me, Riceworks has found the perfect balance of flavor and health. Yet another reason I stand by trying almost everything once.
Don't just go by my take on Riceworks, try them for yourself today!!

NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine

I got another wonderful treat in my holiday voxbox. I received NYC New York Color's Liquid Lipshine in Nude. I was so ready to give it a try. I have & do currently use other NYC products. So my expectations for this lipgloss were high.
The packaging is sleek & simple which I like for lipgloss.  The color when looking at the tube seemed it would be a light brown but came out a wonderful shade of nude. It was just the right amount of color. Unlike other similar glosses I've tried, NYC New York Color LIQUID Lipshine isn't tacky or thick. It glides on with this pretty shimmer leaving just the right amount behind. The brush is soft and flexible making it great for following the curve of your mouth.
NYC New York Color Liquid lipshine also has a tasty smell however doesn't taste that good. It's rich with Vitamin E and pure pigments which give it a "3-D gloss effect". The shine from NYC lipgloss lasts for a very good amount of time. MIne still had some shine 1 meal & 4 hours later.
What better way to top off a great gloss than with a great price! At $2.49 you can have these glosses (hey why not try all 10 trendy hues) without breaking the budget. With hues from neutral nudes, to berries & fuchsias its very simple to find a shade just right for you. This NYC lipgloss has quickly become one of my faves since getting it last week. Another thing I like is that I can find it at alot of local stores such as Wal-Mart, Family Dollar, Rite-Aid, and CVS.  Love that Influenster chose to send out this product. It's always nice to find good quality product at good prices.

"PAC"king in the Good with A Montagne Jeunesse Kelp & Seaweed Mud Pac

For quite some time I have enjoyed face masks. My mom and I have always used at home face masks as a way to bond and catch up. One brand we've loved is Montagne Jeunesse. The price is affordable and the product is great.
When I opened my Influenster Holiday Voxbox, I was genuinely thrilled to see a trial of the Mud Pac Kelp & Seaweed face mask. I couldn't wait to use it. As kids get older & days go by, my mom & I have less time for facials. This reminded me of the need to make time for one another.
This particular mask is a Dead Sea mask containing of course Dead Sea Salt, Seaweed extract, Lavender oil, Bergamot fruit oil, the natural clay Kaolin & much more. I love that their ingredients are natural & mostly plant based. They meet the vegetarian standard with their masks & don't test on animals.
In four easy steps you have a relaxing at home facial. The whole process takes about 20 minutes. You wet your face then apply the mask. Take care to avoid your eyes & its best to avoid the hair line. Give it between 10 to 15 minutes to dry. The scent is light & refreshing so use those minutes to de-stress. Either meditate, read or do some other "me time" activity. When it comes time to rinse I recommend applying a warm damp cloth to your face first to further open pores. I also recommend you rinse with warm water then splash with cool water & pat dry. Your face will feel smooth and refreshed.
These are inexpensive wonderful facials and I recommend them to everyone. During these stressful days of family, travel, gifts and so on... Treat yourself to a quick, inexpensive, quality gift, Montagne Jeunesse facials!
They also have an awesome site: http://www.montagnejeunesse.com/. They offer three newsletters, one of which is for the man in your life.  Check out the other great products they have and enjoy!

Time to imPRESS You with Broadway imPRESS Press-On Manicure

So I got my Influentster Holiday Voxbox yesterday! I was very excited when I opened my box and saw the Broadway imPRESS Press-On Nails! I am a nail fanatic of sorts and truly love trying new nail products/color.
I have to chat for a second about the site for this product. The above link will take you directly to the site. It has this neat app on it that allows you to try out different designs and colors on a model hand. This was a fun tool and it allowed me to pick a few future choices! The site is quick and user friendly with lots of great color and catchy music.
I received the design Wink Wink and loved it!  This is such an elegant design but still fun & flirty!  They're also super easy to apply with no mess!
Loving them! Thanks to Influenster!

So sweet!

There is no drying time, no long wait at the salon and yet you still get a look that has salon quality shine and color. In 3 easy steps you can have a quick look for any time. The adhesive can last for up to a week but is still gentle on your nails so that you can switch up your look as often as you like. I do reccomend however to not submerge your hands in water for a few hours after application. I took a shower about 45 minutes after applying and a couple came off. However I dried them and my nail & just reapplied. They have done very well to be press ons with my busy mom life. They have a combined 36 colors and patterns.
The price is very reasonable for these kits, $5.99 for solid colors & $7.99 for designs. They come with a variety of sizes to pick from in each kit. You can find them at your local CVS Pharmacy, Rite-Aid, Wal-Mart, or Target. Find a full listing at the imPRESS Nails site.
I plan on getting the design Over The Moon and solid Tweetheart! Give them a try, definitely worth the time!

Jonathan Dirt... Let's get dirty

Had the recent pleasure of sampling Jonathan Dirt texturizing paste over the last few days. This product is one I could see myself using regularly.
Dirt is a mineral-oil free, phthalate free, and gluten free water based paste. The team at Jonathan has infused this with Lemongrass Essential Water, sweet almont protein, white tea, almond, horsetail and nettle extracts to repair, nourish, stimulate, and condition all hair types. They incorporated "a potent antioxidant blend of natural plant botanicals combined with a UV filter" that "help protects hair and prevents color fading".
I love that with a minimal amount I can have a textured, sassy yet healthy look.

It has a lovely light scent. The hold lasts for a long time and it rinses from your hands fairly easily. You use it like all other texturizing pastes. Work it into your hair well because like other pastes it can leave clumps if not blended well. It's easy and quick to use.
It is definitely a product worth the price and I see a purchase in my future.

John Freida Makes My Hair Happy

It all started when I was 11. I begged and pleaded with my mom until she let me dye my hair. And I have been a hair color junky ever since. My hair has ranged from many colors and shades over the last 16 years. I've waded through many brands and types to come across my small list of favorites.
Recently I decided to try the new John Frieda Precision Foam Hair color.

I chose the Deep Cherry Brown 3RV to go along with what I had previously done. Here is my before hair color:

The kit comes with the typical hair dye kit contents. The difference between theirs and the typical kit is the pump style dispenser lid.

Even if you have dyed your hair a dozen or more times yourself, I can not stress enough to READ THE ENTIRE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING!  These instructions are very beneficial with a couple key differences from typical hair dye. They're written up very professionally, even having you apply a water resistant sale around your hair line to block stains. I have yet to find any other directions to do this.
One key to this product is do NOT shake to mix. This will essentially deflate the foam, causing it to be runny.  The pump also does not pump. You must squeeze the middle of the bottle to dispense the foam.
I had a bit of a mess on my hands with the foam but I am a bit messy in anything I do. It applies amazingly easy to your hair. It isn't as stiff as other dyes and doesn't harden when done. You can easily massage the color out as you rinse. The max time for it to develop is 30 minutes.  The conditioner included is creamy & pleasant smelling. It also leaves your hair silky and soft. Once I managed through my dye job this was my final product:
The color is rich & my hair feels & looks smooth and healthy.  Definitely recommending this product to my gal pals! Plus I think anyone who does or is thinking of dying their hair to check out the website: http://www.johnfrieda.com/en-US/homecolour/precision-foam-colour/.

Well I have to say Proactiv is...

A good product. I wish I could say it is a life saver or worked wonders but the fact of the matter is that I am blessed with a fairly good complexion. I get a breakout once in a while and usually its one little bump on my chin. I do however have some small bumps around my nostrils that I can't seem to get rid of. So please do read on, I have some good and useful stuff to pass on about this good product!
Now with all that said, I did use the Proactiv 3-step system I received in my Influenster voxbox and get some good results. But before I get into those let me give you just a bit of info on what Proactiv is all about. One of the key ingredients of the system is benzoyl peroxide.  Please keep in mind benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics so be careful.  Proactiv recommends you use the whole system twice daily-once in the morning and once at night. You have the renewing cleanser which is step 1. As with most other cleanser you dampen your whole face and massage around a dime size amount of cleanser into skin. This has a gritty feel that reminds me of exfoliating cleansers. Its not foamy nor does it lather. It more resembles a cream cleanser. You of course rinse well and pat dry. Step 2 is the Revitalizing toner. As with step 1 use twice daily after the cleanser. Apply to your whole face and allow to dry fully. Step 3 is the Repairing treatment. It also contains benzoyl peroxide.  You only apply this to affected areas twice daily. Don't rinse let air dry.
It also cautions that you use a sunscreen when using these products as they overtime may increase sensitivity to sunlight. I have had experience with benzoyl peroxide over the years (when I was younger breakouts were more frequent & worse) and it for my skin is very drying. So for me I used the cleanser once a week (which is way less than the recommended amount) the toner 2-3 times a week and the repair treatment for a couple days on the bumps around my nose once a day.  The bumps have diminished quite a bit and I liked the toner alot. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and fresh. I had a zit on my chin which I used the repair treatment on and in just a couple days it was gone!
So while I wasn't a good candidate for using this the way advised to, it still did a good job & I still recommend it for those who have breakouts!

Love my lips with Blistex Deep Renewal

Cold weather brings about lots of bundling up, heated homes & cars. For me it also brings chapped lips. I try to keep all my skin moisturized year round but for some reason my lipsare the hardest to keep healthy.
I must say its partly because I have this habit of licking & biting on my lips. While I've pretty much kicked that bad habit to the curb, I have been searching for a lip balm that I love. I've come across many thatI like & that treat my lips well. But I keep searching for another kind.
Recently I started using Blistex Deep Renewal COQ10 formula and I have to say I've stuck with it longer than any other. I use it about 4 times a day. It leaves my lips instantly smoother & love that it is SPF15! I've been using it for a couple months now & have yet to have any chapped lips. My lips seem softer as well. The colder the weather gets the more I'll put this to the test. If it can continue to doas it has while I trek out my daily one and a half to two and a half mile walk; well then I'll have found my prince charming of chapstick.

Smooth as... Well as a shave with Gillette Venus Proskin razor!!

I am all for equal rights and women lib and all that but my personal like is to have smooth, close, clean shaved legs and underarms. Nothing to anyone else just my preference. I've always liked Gillette and especially like their Venus line. So when my Influenster Voxbox arrived a few weeks back I was excited to see the Venus Proskin razor
This Venus razor was made with an easy-to-handle-with-wet-hands ergonomic handle, the well trusted three-blade technology known to Gillette, and the get-in-those-hard-to-reach-places pivoting round head. Three things that have made Venus a #1 selling global brand for women. The newest feature to this would be the two shave gel bars consisting of a triple blend of body butters. These create a protective layer over your skin to help minimize nicks and razor burns. You just dip the razor in water and viola` instant shave gel gliding across your skin!
I was ready to get going with this because I love the feel of a good smooth shave. All it took was one dip in the water to activate the shave gel bars. I had a slight problem though. The gel bars are quite thick and since it was just a maintenance shave it was fairly hard to get close enough to my skin to shave the small stubble. I decided to scrape away some of the top bar & it worked so much better.  Then there is a second thing that I didn't care for and that is that with it being a "gel" bar is it has a slimy texture. With that said, once I rinsed my leg it felt amazingly smooth and velvety. Even though I had a couple hitches in the road, it was just as I expected, a great shave!  Those two minor quirks are worth the end result and I have reccommended this to several friends and family!

Update: Ok so it is January 16, 2012, a full two months after reviewing this razor and I have just now had to change the blade!! How awesome is that! So in love with Venus Proskin razor!!

Scrumptious? Indeed! Vitabath my new love!

I am an avid lover of scents, especially those in my body wash, lotions etc.  A little over a week ago I received my very first Influenster voxbox. I was extremely stoked to begin this program and even more so when I encountered one of the products-Vitabath Fragrance Collection Body Wash. I was first delighted with a very cute packaging of the body wash. Then I read up on it from the info card provided by Influenster. The next thing I love is that this is a paraben & sulfate free product! Then when I opened the bottle I was hit with an intoxicating scent! I was lucky enough to receive the In Bloom scent which I find heavenly! I was ready for a shower after one whiff. This company has been providing quality products for 50 years and decided to rejuvenate their brand with a new release this year.   They whipped up four delightful fragrances to invigorate your senses: Cupcake Couture, Spa Day, In Bloom, & Fruit Fanatic. They're formula is rich in nourishing vitamins A, B3, B5, C and E,  with an added kick from an antioxidant superfruit blend.      Needless to say I was amped that night to try it out! With just a small amount (maybe the size of a nickel) I had an amazing luxurious lather that engulfed my senses with a lovely scent & creamy feel. It was great to see that such a small amount gave me such a full lather and one that lasted the whole shower. This just ups the value of the product in my book! I didn't have that tight filmy feel when I rinsed away the lather either. My skin felt clean and refreshed. I have used it everyday since and my skin has been soft and moisturized. I also used it as a bubble bath. It took maybe a quarter size for as many bubbles as I like but thats still a reasonable amount! It was such a relaxing bath with the In Bloom scent and still left my skin feeling refreshed.

I am extremely satisfied with the results of using this body wash and reccommend everyone give it at least one try. I bet you'll be hooked! They have become one of my new faves & I'm excited to give all their products a try.
